We Still Do!

Greetings ~

How did 6 months pass and we didn’t share any of our favorites!!  Oh goodness friends so so so sorry!!  We are working on getting stories up ASAP!!  Alas we have seen many lovely I DO’s in the last few months and today I am sharing one that well it’s just MAGICAL!

Anytime a couple says I DO is amazing to us but Judith and John after 25 years came before us and said WE STILL DO!!  And that my friends in this day and age is so so so MAGICAL.

On a cool, crisp Dec evening with their children, grandchildren and great grand child in attendance they stood once again before each other and said yes WE STILL DO.  We still promise to love each other in sickness and health, for better or worse, and for richer or poorer.  Many thanks to Kate Jeans Photography for capturing these sweet moments.

Krisie and David

Greetings!

2014 was an eventful year to say the least! March 9th was the day I became aware of how extremely intriguing it is when a wedding planner gets married. Most often I heard something like:

“Oh! you must already have it all planned out!”

This was always my favorite because people were shocked to hear that I didn’t.  To be completely honest, I never had the secret pinboard that all 20-somethings are slightly ashamed to admit pinning to. You know.. the “My Future Wedding” one.  I just figured, when I got engaged I wouldn’t still be into whatever I was currently pinning.

“I bet your fiancé is relieved you’re a planner”

David was a trooper, but I can’t say he was relieved. Maybe bursting through the bedroom door at 3:00am covered in DIY project remnants exclaiming “I FOUND THE PERFECT VENUE!” was a bit much?

“It must be a breeze for you!”

Yes, in some aspects it was very helpful to have experience but by no means would I say it made wedding planning a breeze. At the end of the day, I was still a typical bride with “bride brain” sorting the pros and cons of wearing my hair up or down.

“Tell me about everything you have planned!”

Always a fun one… especially when coming from someone who doesn’t know me very well. “Well, we are having an old world circus theme.” This statement never failed to provoke an interesting response. Excitement, confusion, fear, relief, you name it!  What remained consistent was the want to know  where the idea came from and how it was executed(for those not at the wedding.) From that… A blog was inspired!

NPG30823-Edit

The 1930s, animals, feathers, glitter, the movie “Water for Elephants”… Put them all together and what do you get?!?! An old world circus inspired wedding! I threw the idea out to David half expecting him to shut me down immediately.  Surprisingly, he was completely on board!

If you have seen “Water for Elephants” you’ll know it fails to include Jacob and Marlena’s wedding. And if you are anything like me, your brain automatically began dreaming up what the wedding of a couple traveling with the circus would have been like….

I would expect the ceremony to look somewhat impromptu. Almost as if the train stopped and everyone aboard unloaded a chair and took a seat.

And what better than to use pieces of the tent as a ceremony backdrop and entryway for the bridal party?

Vows were exchanged and then the train was full steam ahead for the next train station.

Upon arrival to the train station it was only a matter of time before the celebration began.

It’s certainly true that the circus will always be a good time!

MyDayRegistry.com

Sooo new year means fun new things found on the web!! I recently spoke with Brent Kozlowski the founder of MyDayRegistry.com to find out a little more about it – Here is what he had to share – MyDayRegistry is a sentimental and heartfelt gift that allows you to dedicate a day to a loved one, event or special occasion. As word has spread over the last year I have found that many of my customers have been dedicating the day of their friends and families wedding days and using it as an alternative wedding certificate.

This gave me the idea of combining the idea of MyDayRegistry with the idea of the signature guest book to create a one-of-a-kind and truly unique wedding keepsake experience. When the certificate is placed inside a frame with an over-sized mat it allows for the wedding party and guests to sign in the area around the certificate.

As you can imagine this creates a wonderful keepsake that the bride and groom can hang on the wall that contains all their loved ones best wishes from the most important day of their lives. Our packages start at $44.95 increasing to $164.95 depending on the frame and registry selected and includes exclusive ownership, meaning that once a day has been dedicated it is no longer available for dedication to another bride.

It Takes A Village ~

Greetings ~

As a mom of 2 small boys I hear that comment often and it really is true.  It does take a village!!  But that same comment applies to the wedding world as well.  Without an amazing “village” of vendors weddings, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs and the likes of other special events could not happen as well as they do! Yesterday was no exception as we ended a 2 wedding weekend we headed straight into the 1st Sumner County Venue Crawl.  An opportunity for bride’s to come out alongside their grooms and family and friends and experience 16 venues across the county.  We were out at The Barn on Willis Branch  in Goodlettesville.  And while the rain came down our amazing village loaded in and set up for an afternoon experience.  We are so grateful for the many brides and vendors who came out from 12-4!  We sincerely hope they enjoyed the Barn and the experience as much as we enjoyed creating it.  Here are a few photos from the day.
