MyDayRegistry.com

Sooo new year means fun new things found on the web!! I recently spoke with Brent Kozlowski the founder of MyDayRegistry.com to find out a little more about it – Here is what he had to share – MyDayRegistry is a sentimental and heartfelt gift that allows you to dedicate a day to a loved one, event or special occasion. As word has spread over the last year I have found that many of my customers have been dedicating the day of their friends and families wedding days and using it as an alternative wedding certificate.

This gave me the idea of combining the idea of MyDayRegistry with the idea of the signature guest book to create a one-of-a-kind and truly unique wedding keepsake experience. When the certificate is placed inside a frame with an over-sized mat it allows for the wedding party and guests to sign in the area around the certificate.

As you can imagine this creates a wonderful keepsake that the bride and groom can hang on the wall that contains all their loved ones best wishes from the most important day of their lives. Our packages start at $44.95 increasing to $164.95 depending on the frame and registry selected and includes exclusive ownership, meaning that once a day has been dedicated it is no longer available for dedication to another bride.

We are Honored ~

Greetings Friends ~

Well Wednesday was a COLD day in Nashville and schools were closed with the forecast of snow snow snow.  So I was working from home while my boys chilled out on their snow day.  While answering emails and calls  an unknown email address popped into my inbox.  It was from Vanessa with Wedding Industry Experts and here is what it said:

After 4 months of reviewing email referrals from across the globe, we have put together our first annual WeddingIndustryExperts.com Honour Roll (Honor Roll ) and am happy to let you know that you’re included.

You were selected  for the 2014 Honour Roll because some of your work inspired either others in your area, or members of our team. Being on the Honour Roll is not an endorsement of your service or products,  it’s just a way to say thank you –  you did some awesome work in 2013 that inspired others and we want to recognize you.

You can see the Honor Roll here: http://www.weddingindustryexperts.com/index2.html

How honored are we to know that our work inspired others.  That while we were running ragged, sharing sleepless nights, traveling the globe and creating events that we believe are truly MAGICAL we blessed others.

So THANK YOUTHANK YOU to every client that trusts us with their day.  THANK YOU to every vendor that refers us, that tweets about us, that tags us and blogs about us.  THANK YOU to those that have believed in my dream even when I did not and stood by me and with me.  It is because of each and everyone of you that we are able to do what we do.

Want to test drive your photographer?

Greetings Friends –

Well we here at A Magical Affair have survived Christmas!  We hope you had a most Magical one as well.  We wanted to share with you a awesomely creative idea that one of our favorite Nashville photographers just shared with us!  Take a look at what Joe Hendricks of Joe Hendricks Photography is up to!

Wedding photography is one of the most important investments a bride will make for her wedding day. Your photographer is with you all day long and you need to make sure you pick someone who not only is easy to get along with, but is also great at what they do! So how does a bride go about finding the right photographer? Joe Hendricks Photography has a creative solution he calls “Test Drive.” Test Driving your photographer allows you to see first hand that they are legit and not just really good at marketing 😉  What exactly is a Test Drive? Joe explains that on his website and we have included it for you below.

What is the Test Drive?

• An engagement session with absolutely no obligation to hire me for your wedding.

How does the Test Drive work?

• We pick a beautiful place and go shoot your engagement session! You’ll get to see how we mesh, how I work, and if I’d be a good fit for your wedding. If you LOVE your session and pictures, you book me for your wedding! If you don’t, you can book someone else without paying me a dime. It’s that easy.

Why should you Test Drive your photographer?

• Because your wedding is way too important to hire someone who’s slick at marketing and selling themselves, but NOT great at photography! With a Test Drive, you can truly see me in action and how I work as a photographer… not to mention get some amazing pictures to show off 😉

Lots of brides say they wish they would’ve invested more for an amazing photographer. Most brides have no idea what the difference is between a great photographer and an average one. My advice to you is splurge on the wedding photographer you really want! If you’re not sure about the photographer you want to hire, take them for a Test Drive. Be wary of any photographer that won’t allow you to Test Drive them.

I did ask Joe “What happens if a bride has you shoot her engagement session and decides she doesn’t like the pictures? Does she get the pictures you shot for free?” He said “No, if she doesn’t hire me, she doesn’t get the pictures…. she didn’t want them anyway, right? ;)”

Joe Hendricks Photography was voted Nashville’s Best Photographer in the 2012 Nashville Scene Readers’ Poll. His wedding portfolio and Test Drive info is online at www.joehendricks.com.

Let us know what you think!!!

Worlds Most Expensive Wedding Desserts

I’m truly amazed at the incredible wedding desserts people come up with.

This wedding cake is definitely on my WOW radar.  Japanese pastry chef Nobue Ikara designed this white cake draped in platinum chains, necklaces, pins, pendants and edible foils.  You can have this wedding cake…for $130,000.00.

OMG! $7,414. macaroons?  French pastry chef, Pierre Herme, has cooked up a new and more expensive type of macaroon that couples can serve at their wedding (or give as a wedding favor or gift). Herme uses ingredients such as balsamic vinegar, fleur de sel, red wine, peanut butter, and anything else you can think of.

Now I’m a fan of hot cocoa just like every other woman in the world.  But I’m certain a $25,000 cup of hot chocolate would give me a stomach ache.   This slushy like hot cocoa called a “Frrozen Haute Chocolate” is a frozen drink that contains a variety of cocoas from over 14 countries, milk, and 5 grams of 24-carat.  It comes in a gold banded goblet decorated with a carat of diamonds along with a golden spoon that’s yours to keep.
