The Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Fair

This past Sunday, July 21st, Krisie and I (Mary Ann), had the opportunity to work The Perfect Wedding Guide bridal fair! As interns, Courtney gave us the daunting task of creating a Great Gatsby themed tablescape all on our own to represent The Carousel House Wedding and Event venue. A Magical Affair helps out with the in-house coordination there, so we were super excited to be able to represent this venue with our table design! About a month prior to the show, you could say we were pretty nervous when Courtney all of the sudden told us that we would be designing this table, renting all the supplies, and working the booth at the show without her help. We weren’t even sure where to start. We immediately logged on to Pinterest (of course) and started getting ideas and creating a design board. After countless days in the office conjuring up ideas, we ventured over to  Liberty Party Rentals and ordered all of our supplies. Krisie and I thought it would be awesome to add a touch of DIY, so we decided to create our own centerpieces with the help of Chocolate Rose florist. It was so much fun taking field trips to Hobby Lobby and making our own black vases and gold glitter candles, even if we did leave the office covered in sparkles from head to toe. The bridal fair turned out to be a huge success! It was amazing to see all of our hard design work and this vision we had in our heads for a month come to life! We had so many brides that loved the table design and wanted to consider Carousel House as their wedding venue. Check out these photos that portray how everything came together from start to finish!

Greetings –

I am so excited!  I have just received these gorgeous images from COMPLETE  This is the gorgeous Indian wedding of Preeti and Brian.  The ceremony and reception both took place at the Nashville Marriott Vanderbilt  Over the years I have had many opportunities to partake in Indian weddings but I must say this one was a little different!  The reason – well my groom was American!  Brian and his family did a fantastic job participating in a wedding of a culture that they are all still learning about!  Many many thanks to all the amazing vendors that came out to make the day a most MAGICAL one for Preeti and Brian for without them the day never would of been so MAGICAL!

Flash back of October!

Greetings All –

WE MADE IT!!!!!!!! Through October that is! Everyone in this office was on edge going into October and stayed that way till the end! We had a few doubts about how we were going to pull it off but we did! All 20 weddings! Take a look back at our hectic wonderful October weddings! We enjoyed each and everyone of these couples and their families and now thats its over, well, I’m not to sure what we are going to do with ourselves!

Lets start from the beginning… October 2 we were honored to be apart of a sweet Vow Renewal on a Tuesday afternoon for Mary & Steven!

Skip to a few days after to October 6th, the first weekend to start the hectic 4 weddings on a Saturday! BOOM!

First one down the aisle Lauren Mann now Mrs. Lunsford! This couple was so sweet and funny! They had a beautiful ceremony at Gaylord Springs in the early afternoon with a reception following off site.

Lauren & Phillip 10.6.12

Second bride down the aisle was Natalie Palmer now Mrs. Axford! This young, sweet couple got married out in the beautiful Arrington, TN at the lovely Kings’ Chapel venue!

Natalie & Matthew 10.6.12

Third Couple down the aisle, Kristin & William Boyd! They too got married at Gaylord Springs with their reception following upstairs in the cluhouse! With close family and friends by their side they danced the night away with a sweet bubble send off!

And finally our fourth couple of the night to get hitched would be Cristy & Chris Dixon! With the perfect ceremony setting under the Crystal Gazebo inside the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, these newlyweds exchanged their vows. They then had their reception follow in the Magnolia Ballroon with the amazing sounds of a family friend blue grass band! Everyone was up dancing and mingling!

The following week was interesting and defintely threw us off…a wedding on Thursday! However, it couldn’t have been more perfect to work with this sweet couple, Tanya & Robert Bratz! They had a small gathering of close family and friends at the Lion’s Head Fountain, located inside Gaylord Opryland. They then enjoyed lunch at one of the amazing restaurants, Cascades. With the most perfect fall decor, Tanya & Robert had the best first fall wedding I had seen!

Tanya & John 10.11.12

With just enough time to sleep, we were up and moving down to Leipers Fork for another perfect fall wedding at Moonshine Hill Inn! Even with a mist of rain all day, the temperature was perfect. Ashley & Chip looked absolutely amazing while exchanging their vows under the small gazebo where their guests gathered! The unique thing that we loved was that instead of a wedding cake we had 8 different homemade pies!!!! (Which smelled and tasted DELICIOUS). They danced the night away under the open starry night!

Ashley & Chip 10.12.12

Again, with just enough time to sleep we all had early set up times and were ready to get 4 new brides down the aisle! Let’s start with Courtney out in Mt. Juliet on a family farm. After 6 months of working non stop on Rachel & Michael’s big day, Courtney was ready to make everything so magical! With a perfect ceremony backdrop of Old Hickory Lake , things were bound to stay magical the rest of the night and they did!

About 45 minutes south, out at Kings’ Chapel, Heather was having a blending of cultures wedding with the sweet Jo & Efraim! Everything was perfect! They even had their ceremony translated into Spanish so Efraims family could relate and understand! So sweet!

Then lets head another 30 minutes south to Spring Hill, where Jenn was sending Alexis down the aisle to marry her sweet Bryan! This couple had a very Victorian wedding! Everything from the venue at Rippavilla Plantation to Alexis’ dress to the old fashion tuxes the gentleman wore to the wedding cake! Absolutely a’dored them!!!!

Alexis & Bryan 10.13.12

Alright, moving right along to October 20th. Almost there….

Starting out the day at Kings’ Chapel, Heather was going to have a busy day with two weddings! She sent her first bride, Lauren down the aisle to marry her best friend Tim!

Lauren & Tim 10.20.12

With just enough time she flipped the space and sent the second bride, April down the aisle to marry Brandon!

April & Brandon 10.20.12

Meanwhile, Courtney was at lifepoint church making sure the sweet Brenda & Jared had the most magical day!

Brenda & Jared 10.20.12

Across town Jenn, had two as well. Working all day to set up Jackie & Shawn’s fabulous decor, she took a few hours to make sure Lisa and Thomas had the most perfect ceremony! They were so in love and definitely held on to the meaning of exchanging their vows! Once theirs wrapped up, she headed back to the Springs to finish final touches on the decor and to greet the bride and groom as they arrived for photos! Everything was exquisite, from the amazing floral to the personalized wine glasses each guest got to take home! Definitely enjoyed this couple and working with them on everything!

Lisa & Tom 10.20.12

Jackie & Shawn 10.20.12

One week later and we were ready to finish October out strong! So, I know I say all our couples are sweet and they really are but after this wedding I definitely gave Megan & Joe the sweetest couple award! They didn’t care about the dress, decor, music, etc all they cared about was that God had brought them together to live a happy life together! So precious!!!

Heading back down to Kings’ Chapel, Heather was ready to send her fabulous bride Katie down the aisle.

Meanwhile, Jenn was at Gaylord Springs waiting on the arrival of Tiffany & Kenneth! She had been planning with them since January and the night couldn’t have been more perfect! Lots of love and celebration with this group! This was a true love story! Be sure to keep watch for a blog post on them and their story! :)

Wedding Tip: Do a First Look

As I start my series on wedding day tips, I look forward to all the wonderful advice I have to pass to y’all. And I hope you learn a lot!

I wanted to start first with one I learned recently; a first look is a huge relief. I should first explain what a first look is. A first look is when the bride and groom reveal themselves to each other for the first time dressed up and ready for their wedding. When I had planned my future wedding in my head, I always said I would refuse to see the groom before I walk down the aisle. I’ve only worked a few weddings, but I can tell that seeing him, if only an hour before can make a huge difference. Your wedding day is filled with loads of pictures that are to be taken. You want this picture under the tree and a picture of the two of you kissing in 10 different locations. But, if you don’t see each other before, this will have to be saved until after the ceremony. That doesn’t seem like a big deal, but from a photographer’s point of view, it is.

The pictures of this are too cute; the groom has been caught crying in pictures a few times, while the bride is just so happy. To have the love of your life by your side through all the stress of picture taking, can take a weight off of their Bride and Grooms shoulders. You can wait until that kiss until after your vows, but getting the entire bridal party into pictures before the makeup comes off and the hair falls out of place makes for better pictures. You can pretend y’all have not seen each other, and tuck in two separate places after some photos have been taken, but at least you have taken off at least 15 different poses that would’ve been done after the ceremony.

Another point that Courtney made when I was telling her about my upcoming blog was that you would also get a few moments alone with your significant other that you’ll never get back. Your wedding will be a crazy day, mingling with others and making sure everyone else is happy on your day. With a first look, you get a couple of minutes to be at ease, he can tell you how beautiful you look and you can relax. It will be the only time to yourselves all day.

So see, it may be bad luck to see each other before the wedding, but if you’re not too superstitious, then you’re saving yourself a hassle and making your day that much easier.

Until next time have a Magical Day,
