MyDayRegistry.com

Sooo new year means fun new things found on the web!! I recently spoke with Brent Kozlowski the founder of MyDayRegistry.com to find out a little more about it – Here is what he had to share – MyDayRegistry is a sentimental and heartfelt gift that allows you to dedicate a day to a loved one, event or special occasion. As word has spread over the last year I have found that many of my customers have been dedicating the day of their friends and families wedding days and using it as an alternative wedding certificate.

This gave me the idea of combining the idea of MyDayRegistry with the idea of the signature guest book to create a one-of-a-kind and truly unique wedding keepsake experience. When the certificate is placed inside a frame with an over-sized mat it allows for the wedding party and guests to sign in the area around the certificate.

As you can imagine this creates a wonderful keepsake that the bride and groom can hang on the wall that contains all their loved ones best wishes from the most important day of their lives. Our packages start at $44.95 increasing to $164.95 depending on the frame and registry selected and includes exclusive ownership, meaning that once a day has been dedicated it is no longer available for dedication to another bride.

Into the “wilds” of East Africa – set up looks a bit different

Greetings from Addis Ababa Ethiopia ~

Yes I (Courtney) am still 7,300 miles away in the heart of East Africa!  One of the reasons I love my job sooo much is simply because it provides me with opportunities like this!  To travel the world and set up events in unique and different spaces.

It also allows me perspective into the jobs we do in America!  While working on a event here these past few weeks I snapped a few photos of the “housemen” doing set up.  We have “housemen in the states and they are responsible for the set up and breakdown of tables and chairs typically in hotels, convention center and banquet halls.  They would also set stages and place water stations and set the room to the basics so the client could come in with the finishing touches!  I paid close attention to the set up this time to see how our worlds were the same and just how our worlds were different.

Take a look –

Housemen at work

There are no carts to stack the chairs on here in Ethiopia – nope they stack the chairs on their heads and carry them!

Carrying the table frame – it’s a one man job!

Tables get carried in 2 sections here in Ethiopia unlike in the states where we just collapse the legs and roll the table away

And there is ALWAYS a monkey or 2 or 3 or more around to assist

So there you have it!  At the end of the day we really are not all that different after all or are we? You decide!!

I’ll be back in the states Aug 24th so until than I bid you adieu from Addis!

Wishing you a MAGICAL day ~
