Groom takes the lead with this beautiful Fall wedding…

What a sweet story with this couple.

John and Debbie were married at Gaylord Opryland on the day after Thanksgiving. They were an absolutely precious couple. In most cases, we predominantly work with the bride to gather all of the details, make lists, etc. For their wedding, however, John did all the planning. He picked out the dress, the floral and all of the other vendors without Debbie, the bride, knowing about any of it! The two of them had been together for 7 years and decided it was about time to tie the knot.

Their vendors were Jeremy Conrey (officiant) and Twila Allen (photographer).

John and Debbie, we wish you all the best in your new life together! Thank you for choosing us as your team to make the big day run flawlessly!

Nashville wedding aboard General Jackson Showboat

Alex Derry did such an amazing job shooting Tim and Drea’s wedding. We’re sharing every single photograph we received! (Well, a couple today and the rest later this week!) Every detail of their day was captured. From the Celtic tradition of handfasting to the rocks of inspiration…we hope you enjoying viewing Alex’s photos of their beautiful day as much as we enjoyed making it happen. Scroll to bottom to view their vendor list.

This was a unique replacement for a guestbook. In case you can’t read the wording, I’m transcribing it here.

“In place of a guestbook, we would like to ask all of our guests to sign their name and write 1 or 2 words of inspiration on a rock of your choosing.

Each rock will remind us of the close family and friends we have celebrated this beautiful occasion with. We can remind ourselves to live life to the fullest with individual words that represent life inspiration from each one of our guests.

The rocks of inspiration will be placed in a glass display surrounded by flowers and plants in our spa garden. Every time we relax under the stars, we can read the words that will carry us through to the next day.”

The ceremony and reception were held on the General Jackson. Their officiant was Gary Copeland. Again, these photos were taken by Alex Derry. The cupcakes were from The Sweet Stash.

Nashville wedding vendors fill cargo truck with shoes for Soles4Souls

Greetings friends! As I’ve shared in the past, I’m the president of Wish Upon A Wedding Nashville. We grant wedding wishes and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness or other serious life-altering circumstances. I’m excited to share that we’ve partnered with Nashville Perfect Wedding Guide and Music City Tents & Events to collect shoes for Nashville-based Soles4Souls. Here are the details:

DATE: Sunday, December 4, 2011
TIME: 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
LOCATION: Monkey Joe’s (1648 Westgate Circle in Brentwood)

What to bring? New, old and gently worn shoes of all types.

Just in time for holiday cleaning, bring those old or weathered shoes that are collecting dust or don’t have a mate. Soles4Souls accepts all shoes and will recycle those that are not usable.

In addition, attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share, business cards for networking and a bright spirit to usher in the holidays together. RSVP by .

Today’s post is going to be short and VERY sweet.

When we think of Thanksgiving, we can’t help but think of oranges, rich browns, yellows, crisp reds, golds and green. (And of course, turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes and all of those yummy Thanksgiving dishes we love enjoying year-round.)
